Sentry UV systems by ChlorKing have been leading the industry in Amalgam UV units for many years. As of now, they have taken yet another industry-leading step to distance themselves from the competition. We are proud to announce that all 9 Sentry UV units, covering from 46 GPM (Gallons per minute) to 1,141 GPM have now been 3rd Party Validated by NSF® (National Sanitation Foundation) to conform to a 99.9% kill of Cryptosporidium (and other nasty guys) in accordance with NSF50 and the US EPA (UV DGM). This is no simple feat, and they are the first lower pressure unit to achieve this NSF Certification.
They also have met the requirements of NSF/ANSI50, Annex H.1 Disinfection Efficacy for a minimum of 99.9% reduction of enterococcus faecium and pseudomonas aeruguinosa (a serious antibiotic-resistant, disease causing pathogen) sometimes found in improperly treated pool water.
What does all that mumbo jumbo mean?
It means that installing a simple and quite affordable (Full flow) UV system in your pool, spa, or water feature, will help assure instantaneous single-pass 99.9% inactivation of some very bad, invisible and disease-causing pathogens.
What is NSF Certification? First we might need to clear up some confusion regarding NSF® certification, as some “less-than-fully-scrupulous” manufacturers have been claiming this type of certification, but the reality is, they don’t have it. There are several NSF® certifications available, including CCS – which means equipment has met minimum design and safety requirements, pending further certifications. Then there is NSF®50 certification, where product outputs and claims are actually tested and verified, so that you can design and install a certain device with full confidence as to the degree of success each model will have at specific flow rates. Finally, there is a “Validated” Annex H certification where the units are specifically tested and verified to inactivate live Crypto (and other pathogens)… with specific model numbers being able to succeed at specific flow rates. This is an extra (very difficult, and very expensive) certification to achieve – especially for a lower cost amalgam unit. CES’s higher cost and higher output medium pressure units have been validated for years.
Why it is important? Some customers have been looking for a simpler and lower cost solution to validation, as validated UV is required on certain water features, and even Interactive water features under certain design conditions.

Simpler approvals and installation: CES has a special (DOH) Department of Health variance that will help streamline installation of any Sentry UV system, and we can provide the DOH approvals, and even help arrange streamlined installation. All systems are available under an affordable 3-year Equipment Maintenance Agreement program, under a single low price – which includes parts and service. After the program, you own the UV equipment, and you can be assured of many years of “Pathogen-Free” safety with simple annual maintenance.
